Immediate Preparation for Confirmation is a two year process that starts traditionally in the 10th school grade. Confirmation is broken down into two years of preparation for the Sacrament. Level 1 "Beginning the Journey to Confirmation" and Level 2 ", Level 2 concludes with the celebration of the sacrament in the Spring of the year on a date determined by the bishop’s office. In order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, candidates must complete both phases of the Confirmation Preparation process.

ALL FAITH FORMATION CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH ARE CONDUCTED ON THE PARISH PREMISES. NO CLASSES ARE CONDUCTED IN PRIVATE HOMES.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT: In keeping with the Charter for the Protection of Children endorsed the United States Catholic Bishops and as required by the Diocese of Albany, all staff members, paid or volunteer, who have access to children & youth are required to undergo a criminal background check and participate in the diocesan Virtus Training program on child safety/child sexual abuse. We are committed to seeing that all children and youth are kept safe while they are in our care.

FOOD ALLERGIES & SPECIAL NEEDS: We are also committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children/youth with special needs. All families participating in our Faith Formation programs are asked to commit themselves to respecting our classroom regulations regarding food so as not to jeopardize persons and children with food allergies. These food regulations are detailed in the Parent Packet distributed in September or at the time a child/youth is officially enrolled in our program. Parents are asked to fully support this policy and not send their child to Faith Formation sessions with foods that are not identified on the "acceptable foods list" in the parent packet.

Faith is a sacred gift which we must care for regularly if it is to mature and deepen. There are many wonderful and exciting opportunities for nurturing one’s faith here at St. Clement’s Parish. The principal means, of course, is through personal and communal prayer, by celebrating the sacraments regularly, through formal and informal study and reflection, and by acting on it publicly. The most eminent public expression of our faith is by coming together weekly as a worshipping family to celebrate the Eucharist to the honor and glory of God.

Before moving on, we invite you to consider some of the spiritual values and beliefs that underlie our Faith Formation Programs.
